The Barren Island of Andaman
The Barren Island of Andaman is the only active volcano in India which is located 135 km North-East of port Blair. This is also a only active volcano in South Asia.
The first massive eruption took place in 1787 and after 150 years it erupted in 1991 then in 2005 almost a year after 2004 Tsunami and the last recorded volcano eruption occurred in February 2016.
