India is way more diverse than any other country and this diversity also comes with the diversity of languages and to Pick a language out of hundreds of languages and make the national language is not possible, That's why India does not have a national language (Rashtrabhasha), but it does have official language (Rajbhasha), Article 343 - 351 in part XVII of the Indian constitution deals with the official language. Hindi language in Devanagari Script is the official language but the numbers will be international form of
Indian numerals according to International norms.
India as a Union has two official languages Hindi and English and every state in India has its own official languages.
Article 343(1) of the Indian Constitution says that Hindi in Devanagari script shall be the Official Language of the Union, and article 343(2) allows continuing the use of English in official work of the Union for a period of 15 years (i.e., up to 25 January 1965) from the date of rudiment of the Indian Constitution. Article 343(3) authorized the parliament to provide by law for continued use of English for official purposes even after 25 January 1965.
According to section 3(2) of the Official Languages Act 1963 which was amended in 1967 allows for continuing the use of English in official work even after 25 January 1965. The Act also allows both Hindi and English both being compulsorily used for certain specified purposes such as Administration, Resolutions, General Orders, Rules, Notifications and other Reports, Press Communique, Administrative and other Reports and Official Papers in the House or the Houses of Parliament; Agreements, Contracts, Licences, Permits, Tender Notices and Forms of Tender, etc.
After 5 years of the implementation of the constitution, after 10 years the President of India will establish a Commission that will promote Hindi and will try to limiting the English language and a parliamentary committee will be formed to give suggestion on the report of commission to president.
