Dog

A four-legged furry thing that barks. And smells. Some bark more than they smell, while others smell more than they bark. When the above two qualities exist only in small amounts, dogs can be highly lovable, affectionate animals - loyal, intelligent, loving and an excellent substitute for a hot water bottle. Unless they're mine.

My Dog

My dog is very smelly and barks a lot. She is greedy, lazy, fat and badly-behaved. She won't go for walks and if she can't get to the garden in time she uses the kitchen as a toilet. But she has a flat head, and the hours of amusement this affords me make me forget her faults - I like my dog. Except at two in the morning when she's barking at me for daring to try to go to bed.

My dog died in January 2001. My sister got a puppy called Mindy - she smells a bit and barks a bit, which is quite good going, but she's not toilet trained yet - she won't even use the potty! Unbelievable! I've sat her on the toilet but she just doesn't seem to get it. Plus she chews things a lot - like my feet.
